Special Program with a Local Children's Cafeteria

ree

Last weekend, Youth For Future wrapped up a special program at a local kodomo-shokudo (children's cafeteria) in Yokohama, hosted in collaboration with Kodomo-shokudo Gajyumaru and Art Miraizu Official.

The aim of this event was to offer children who regularly visit children’s cafeterias a unique chance to connect with people from around the world—to see, hear, and feel the richness of different cultures.

We kicked off the day with self-introductions. This simple activity helped the children step out of their comfort zones and gain confidence in a diverse, multicultural setting.

The energy only grew from there! Together with volunteers from nearly 10 countries, the children engaged in fun, interactive activities—making colorful posters about different countries and even learning to play rock-paper-scissors in various languages.

Of course, no kodomo-shokudo event would be complete without sharing a warm meal. Over lunch, everyone came together to experience the true heart of what these cafeterias stand for: community and nourishment—both of the body and the spirit.

We are deeply grateful to all the incredible volunteers, partners, and supporters who made this day possible. Together, we created an environment where children could explore the world without ever leaving Yokohama and feel the joy of belonging in a global community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in making this day meaningful!
